Community Connections

 

What is Community Connections Program?

The Community Connections program is designed to match newcomers with volunteers who are already well established in the community. The objective of the program is to facilitate the integration of newcomers.

 

The program has 2 sections: adults (25 years old or over) and youth (15 to 24 years old).

 

This program allows newcomers to:

  • Develop social and professional  networks.
  • Access information related to their settlement.
  • Practice French and/or English.
  • Develop new competences.
  • Discover Canadian society.

The program requires a commitment of 1 or 2 hours per week for a duration of 6 to 12 months.

 

Who can participate ?

To participate in this program, the newcomers must be:

  • Permanent residents or landed immigrants.
  • 15 years old or over.

 

What group activities do we organize ?

  • Social and professional activities
  • Conversation groups (French / English / Spanish)
  • Computer sessions
  • Social activities for youth (Salon-jeunesse)
